Approx. 3,024 Hours Remaining...

Countdowns:
Ben's Dad made this bassinet!
It's gone by fast! I'm a smidge over 50% done at this point but you never know if you're going to go early or late. There is an 85% chance that he will be born between weeks 39 and 41 which gives me a date range of June 23rd to July 13th! Baby initiates birthing time when baby is good n' ready. Seems to me like the numbers indicate a greater chance of him being born after the proposed due date (July1.)

Less than a month until I turn 30! Just in case you can't think of anything to get me (hahaha), I found THIS AMAZING THING THAT I LOVE TO DEATH. The only problem is I don't know what size I'll be at that point. So far, I've been staying in the XS/S maternity size range which is simply amazing given the fact that I am starving ALL OF THE TIME and I eat about every two hours between the hours of 8am to 9pm

Looks like my baby shower is going to be in mid-April! You'll get an email about it soon if you haven't already. We are registered at Amazon.com.

Baby Class/Check Up:

OMG dinosaurs! (Now fully extinct at Target)
Recently, I attended an open house for a Hypnobabies class that I am going to attend May 11-June 22nd so there go ALL of my warm, delightful outdoor Saturdays (except for Memorial day weekend) for that duration. Maybe by that time I'll be so big and uncomfortable I won't want to do anything outside anyways. I already feel super uncomfortable but I know it'll just get worse from here on out. The content of this class will help me with that discomfort as well though. Unfortunately, the name Hypnobabies is misleading. It really has nothing to do with "stage hypnosis" like you are thinking and is more about meditation and reprogramming one's way of thinking about birth in order to ensure a positive and more comfortable experience. There's not going to be anyone at the birth swinging a watch in front of my face or anything. (That would never do anyway, I need my birth to be a super private event, just me, Ben, Melissa & her assistant.) This type of hypnosis is referred to as hypno-anesthesia and is also recognized by the medical world as being a viable tool to be applied to any procedure from dental work to major surgery.
An A+ + Work of Fiction.

Had my check up with Melissa today. Turns out all the  measurements they took during the ultra sound look great and are right on target for a healthy baby! This week he is one whole pound and absolutely loves to hang out on top of my bladder. However, I believe him to be a courteous soul because as soon as I start getting cranky about it, he moves. Also, I missed the memo but apparently there was karate class at 5:45am this morning and I could see all those kicks and punches through my skin! When it gets a little more noticeable, I'll try to capture it on video.
Week 18: Yam
Week 22: 'Sghetti Squash
Names, Names, Names! I've wanted to pick out a name for sure since the ultrasound because it would be nice to call this person who I hang out with, read to, play music for and play poke & kick with every day, something. A few people had suggested just picking a nickname for now...Taz is what I've come up with, which is what he's doing the 6-8 hours a day that he is not asleep. Otherwise, we both really like Jaxen. It's one of the top eight baby boy names of 2012 though (when spelled "Jackson") but oh well. I've sorted through thousands of names and thrown away at least 50 by now so it's not easy to find options but we're still open to suggestions. Nothing is set in stone until he's born and something comes out of my mouth in greeting. On to the middle name. Here is our name list. Feel free to thumb up or thumb down your preferences.

Does this baby make me look fat?

"A baby can learn to spend time by himself. It is important for him to discover satisfaction and joy in his own independence. Children who have learned to rely on being stimulated, manipulated and entertained by adults may lose their capacities to be absorbed in independent, exploratory activities."
