Month Eight: Sitting Up Straight

What new challenges will 2014 hold for us? (Hopefully not another baby! Not yet anyway...)

My new years resolution is to try a new parenting method: CTFD

Later this spring Ben and I will be celebrating 10 years together!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! I wanted to plan a neat trip in celebration but it's going to have to wait a bit. I'm thinkin' Costa Rica next year! Can't wait to get back to that beach. Of course I'd always be down for Hawaii too...I'm ALWAYS ready for Hawaii. ALWAYS. Too bad Ben passed up that job he found on Kauai with the Navy!

17.4lbs -- 28.5" tall!

8 Month Updates:

• J can finally hold an upright seated position! This makes for much happier independent play time.
• New bed time routine! On 1/9/14 by the suggestion of one of my clients we decided keep him up until later (7ish), bathe him, story book 'em, feed (using Scout to play lullabyes) and THEN put him down by 8pm at the very latest.
• Moved into his OWN ROOM!! -- 1/14/14 From this night on he's been back to sleeping 5-9 hours straight and getting up around 7am instead of 430/5. 
• NEW SLEEP PR of 9 HOURS! Makes me wish I had tried him in his own room sooner but I fully realize he may not have been ready for it any sooner than it happened.
• Learned some new sounds this month & how to clap. I *think* he is trying to sign back at me for more when he is eating too...
• Holy separation anxiety!
• We still love to back crawl.

Gma Julie visited us again on her way to and from her new house in Florida! Thanks for the visit Gma! We are excited to try out your pool in April! Lots of traveling coming up over the next few months. Fingers crossed it doesn't ruin our good run of sleep!
