My First Check Up

I am 9 weeks and 4 days! With a revised due date of: July 1st 2013! This time we measured from the exact date of ovulation which I happen to know because I've kept graphs, charts and data going back to last December.

Today I had my first appointment with Melissa, the midwife I have chosen to work with. She will be handling all my blood-work, tests, procedures as well as my home birth and emergency hospital back up plan just in case. The only thing I will go elsewhere for is the 20 week ultra sound but as long as we remain in good health no doctors necessary!

Frankly, nothing in the entire universe could make me happier.

Ben came with me today and I did some blood work, family history stuff, insurance stuff and Melissa used the Doppler to try to hear a heart beat. It is 168bmp! We could barely hear it because it's really too early but next time I will try to record it and post it here. We did however, hear lots of moving around. Next check up will be the day after Christmas and it will be an in-home call. Pretty sweet! Who's OBGYN did that for them? :-P

So far, so good! I've had mild/occasional nausea and feel slightly tired. Easy. I’ve had to scale my workouts due to lack of energy (and I feel like I'm moving at a snails pace) but they are still pretty intense though my heavy lifting has been capped at 75lbs (b-u-m-m-e-r dude), I’m still managing to get the job done. I don't get nausea on the days that I workout! Magic exercise cure! (It's a cure all IMO!) I will continue to gain strength & endurance for the day 7 months from now when I will REEEEAAAAALLY need it.
